I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
